MOOI DING: MIPPAA STAIR TRAINER

Where many innovative products today are lavishly decorated with beautiful features and extra functionality, the strength of this product lies precisely in its simplicity. Mippaa developed a universal banister for children to learn to walk safely up and down stairs. The Stair Trainer is a construction kit that can be mounted under an existing banister. The product is very relevant to the customer, technically feasible and commercially viable. A good example of how you can hit the Sweet Spot of innovation success with a relatively 'simple' product!

Relevant and convenient
I heard about the product through the Baby Innovation Award 2017. My first reaction: 'How convenient, silly that this did not yet exist! When a new product triggers such a reaction, I think you have something relevant to catch. Every year, 4,570 children under the age of 4 end up in the emergency room due to an accident with the stairs. A toddler who learns to climb stairs is a source of anxiety for many parents. Your child would like to go up the stairs themselves, but the existing banister is still too high. Mippaa developed a nice solution for this: a banister especially for children. The patented suspension system can be mounted under the existing banister. Simply a matter of measuring, cutting and attaching. And in my opinion an important selling point: easy and quick to assemble WITHOUT drilling.

Clever concept
The Stair Trainer is a simple construction kit, offered in three colour variants, affordable and easy to assemble. The banister is designed as a modular, universal banister and, according to Mippaa, fits on any banister. This greatly increases the potential market and thus the commercial viability of the product. The target group (parents with young children who consider the safety of their child important) is not particularly small. A good example of a relatively easy to produce product that is interesting and affordable for a large group of consumers. An interesting concept! I am curious if Mippaa will be able to remain distinctive in the market in the coming years and reap the commercial potential of this product!
